Assignment One – Warm Up – Abandoned Versions

I quite liked the fabric in this version, but I wasn’t pleased with the flowers and the penned leaf stem over the mirror – too cartoony!. Hence I got frustrated and chose to abandon this version. The fabric was too flat and too heavy. Once Id overworked the table edge there was no going back!

I was pleased with the left hand corner of the drawing, where the hessian fabric folds around the table edge. There is heavier crosshatching to hint at where the shadow of the teapot hits.
